Rajasthan High Court Stenographer Application 2026: The Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, has issued an official detailed notification (Advertisement No. RHCJ/Exam Cell/Subordinate Court/Stenographer/2026/1032) for direct recruitment through the Joint Competitive Examination, 2026.

Applications are invited for the vacant posts of Stenographer Grade-III (Hindi & English) in District Courts and Stenographer Grade-II (Hindi) in District Legal Services Authorities (including Permanent Lok Adalats) across Rajasthan.   • Horizontal Reservation Policy: Includes female reservations (with widow/divorcee sub-quotas), PwBD horizontal quota, Ex-Servicemen quotas, and state-recognized sportspersons or agitator reservations.
  • Out-of-State Applicants: Reserved category candidates or married women belonging to states other than Rajasthan will be treated under the General (Unreserved) category.

Candidates must fulfill all required academic and technical criteria on or before the application deadline.

  • Academic Base: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Pass) in Arts, Science, or Commerce stream from the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) or an equivalent board.
  • Language Requirement: Good working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and familiarity with Rajasthani dialects.
  • Computer Qualification (Any one of the following):
    • “O” Level or higher certificate course from DOEACC / NIELIT.
    • COPA / DPCS certificate under the National/State Council for Vocational Training.
    • Diploma in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Computer Science & Engineering.
    • RSCIT course conducted by Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota.
    • Senior Secondary School Examination passed with Computer Science as an optional subject.
  • Probation Period Pay: Appointed candidates will serve as Probationer Trainees for 2 years at a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹23,700/-.
  • Regular Pay Matrix: Upon successful completion of probation, employees are integrated into Pay Matrix Level L-10 (Pay Scale: ₹33,800 – 1,06,700/- per month).

Selection will be finalized based on the total aggregate marks obtained in the Shorthand Test and Computer Test (Speed & Efficiency Test).

  • Order of Preference: Applicants must select up to 5 district judgeships in order of preference during application entry.
  • Shorthand Evaluation Method: Full mistakes include omitted words, wrong words, and spelling errors. Errors in punctuation or capitalization count as partial mistakes (2 partial = 1 full mistake). A margin of 5% mistakes is allowed.
  • Qualifying Interview: Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for an interview based on written/shorthand merit. The interview carries no marks and serves only to ensure the candidate does not stammer to an extent that hampers reading their own shorthand notes.
  • Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal aggregate marks, higher marks in the Shorthand Test determine rank. If shorthand scores match, the elder candidate ranks higher.

The competitive test is divided into Shorthand dictation/transcription groups and a compulsory Computer Test:

  • Dictation Speed: 80 words per minute for 6 Minutes.
  • Computer Transcription Time: 50 Minutes.
  • Maximum Marks: 100 Marks.
  • Dictation Speed: 70 words per minute for 6 Minutes.
  • Computer Transcription Time: 50 Minutes.
  • Maximum Marks: 100 Marks.
  • Speed Test: 10 Minutes duration | 50 Marks (Min Marks: 20 for SC/ST/PwBD; 22.5 for Others).
  • Efficiency Test: 10 Minutes duration | 50 Marks (Min Marks: 20 for SC/ST/PwBD; 22.5 for Others).
  • Font Specifications: Kruti Dev 010 for Hindi and Calibri for English. Minimum speed required is 8000 key depressions per hour.
