RRB Junior Engineer (JE) & DMS Application 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways, Government of India has released the detailed Centralised Employment Notice (CEN No. 04/2026) for direct recruitment to various posts of Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS).

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates possessing a Diploma or Degree in Engineering across various disciplines to fill 3,993 vacancies across various RRB zones. Desirous and eligible candidates can submit their online applications through the official RRB application portal.

Candidates must possess the requisite qualification from a recognized University/Institute on or before the closing date:

  • Junior Engineer (JE) – Civil & Allied Engineering: 3-Year Diploma in Civil Engineering OR B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (3 years) OR Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering or its relevant sub-streams.
  • Junior Engineer (JE) – Mechanical & Allied Engineering: 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Manufacturing / Mechatronics / Industrial / Machining / Tools & Machining / Tools & Die Making Engineering OR B.E./B.Tech in relevant disciplines.
  • Junior Engineer (JE) – Electrical & Allied Engineering: 3-Year Diploma in Electrical Engineering OR a combination of sub-streams of Electrical Engineering OR B.E./B.Tech in relevant disciplines.
  • Junior Engineer (JE) – Electronics & Allied Engineering: 3-Year Diploma in Electronics / Information Technology / Communication Engineering / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering OR B.E./B.Tech in relevant disciplines.
  • Junior Engineer (Track Machine): 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering OR B.E./B.Tech.
  • Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): 3-Year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution OR B.E./B.Tech in any discipline.
  • Pay Level: Level 6 in 7th CPC Pay Matrix
  • Initial Basic Pay: ₹35,400/- per month
  • Allowances: Eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TPTA), and other admissible perks and benefits as per Railway rules.
  • Training: Selected candidates will undergo prescribed training and receive a stipend during the training period.

The recruitment process involves four distinct stages:

  • Virtual Calculator: A virtual calculator will be available on screen during CBT-II.
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer.

  2. Click on “Create an Account” and complete identity verification using DigiLocker or your valid identity credentials.
  3. Log in with your credentials and select CEN No. 04/2026 (JE/DMS).
  4. Choose only one RRB and set your preference for Railway Zones and post categories.
  5. Capture your live photograph directly through your webcam/mobile camera in clear contrast against a light background.
  6. Upload your scanned signature (black ink on white paper, 30 KB to 49 KB in JPG/JPEG format) and SC/ST Certificate (if requesting free rail pass, PDF under 400 KB).
  7. Pay the applicable examination fee online via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.
  8. Submit your application on or before 13 September 2026 (23:59 Hours) and print a copy of the application form for future reference.
