SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) Application 2026: The State Bank of India (SBI) Central Recruitment & Promotion Department (CRPD), Corporate Centre, Mumbai has officially released the detailed recruitment notification (Advt. No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17) for the appointment of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre.

SBI Clerk Educational Qualification Criteria

• Basic Degree Requirement: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
• Integrated Dual Degree (IDD): Candidates possessing an IDD certificate must ensure that the date of passing is on or before 31 December 2026.
• Final Year / Semester Students: Candidates in the final year/semester of graduation are eligible to apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026.
• Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the opted local language of the applied State/UT. Candidates who studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempted from the language test.
• Matriculate Ex-Servicemen: Matriculate Ex-servicemen with the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding Navy/Air Force certificate and a minimum of 15 years of service are also eligible.

SBI Clerk Pay Scale and Salary Structure

• Pay Scale Band: ₹24,050 – 1340/3 – 28,070 – 1650/3 – 33,020 – 2000/4 – 41,020 – 2340/7 – 57,400 – 4400/1 – 61,800 – 2680/1 – ₹64,480/-
• Starting Basic Pay: ₹26,730/- per month (₹24,050/- basic plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).
• Total Starting Emoluments: Around ₹46,000/- per month in metro cities like Mumbai (inclusive of DA, HRA, CCA, and two graduate increments).
• Probation Period: Newly recruited Junior Associates will serve a probation period of 6 months and must complete prescribed e-lessons.

SBI Clerk Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Selection is conducted in three successive phases:

1. Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online Objective – 100 Marks)

• Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.25 marks) deducted for each wrong answer.
• Sectional Cut-Off: No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual subjects or aggregate score in Prelims.
• Shortlisting: Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Exam.

2. Phase-II: Main Examination (Online Objective – 200 Marks)

• Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.25 marks) deducted for each incorrect answer.
• SBI Apprentice Weightage: Trained Apprentices of SBI are awarded 2.5% bonus marks (5 marks out of 200) added to their aggregate score in the Main Examination.
• Final Merit: Prelims marks are not added; the final merit list is prepared strictly based on aggregate scores in the Main Examination.

3. Phase-III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

• Conducted after the Main Exam for provisionally selected candidates who did not study the specified opted local language in 10th or 12th standard. Qualifying in nature.

2. Click on “Recruitment of Junior Associates 2026” and select “Apply Online”.
3. Click on “Click here for New Registration” and enter your basic details, mobile number, and email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
4. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, circle/state preference, and local language choice.
5. Upload required scanned files:
   • Recent passport-size colour photograph (20 KB – 50 KB, JPG/JPEG)
   • Signature on white paper with black ink (10 KB – 20 KB)
   • Left Thumb Impression on white paper (20 KB – 50 KB)
   • Handwritten Declaration in English (50 KB – 100 KB)
