Rajasthan RSSB Junior Engineer (JEN) Application 2026: The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB / RSMSSB), Jaipur has officially released the detailed recruitment notification (Advertisement No. 10/2026) for the Junior Engineer Combined Direct Recruitment 2026 (कनिष्ठ अभियंता संयुक्त सीधी भर्ती-2026).

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates possessing an Engineering Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines to fill 874 vacancies across three major engineering departments: Public Works Department (PWD), Water Resources Department (WRD), and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). RSSB Junior Engineer Application Fee Details (One Time Registration – OTR)

• General Category & Creamy Layer OBC / MBC Candidates: ₹600/-
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / MBC (NCL) / EWS / SC / ST Candidates of Rajasthan: ₹400/-
• All Divyangjan (PwD) Candidates: ₹400/-
• Out-of-State Candidates (All Categories): Treated as General Category and required to pay ₹600/-

Upper Age Relaxations (Point-Wise)

• SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS Male Candidates (Rajasthan Domicile): Relaxed by 5 Years (Up to 45 years + 1 year general relaxation).
• General Category Female Candidates: Relaxed by 5 Years.
• SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS Female Candidates (Rajasthan Domicile): Relaxed by 10 Years.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD of Rajasthan): Relaxed by 5 Years (In addition to category-specific age relaxation).
• Ex-Servicemen Candidates: Relaxed by 15 Years (Subject to maximum upper age limit of 50 years; 55 years where lower post experience is required).
• Widows and Divorced / Separated Women Candidates: No Maximum Upper Age Limit (Must be below the state superannuation age).
• NCC Cadet Instructors: Relaxed to the extent of service period rendered in NCC (Up to 3 years above the maximum limit).

RSSB Junior Engineer Educational Qualification Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the minimum qualification criteria as prescribed on or before the date of the written examination:

• Junior Engineer (Civil) (Degree Holder):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognized University established by law in India, or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
  • Practical working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
• Junior Engineer (Civil) (Diploma Holder):
  • 3-Year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution, or Diploma in Civil Engineering recognized by the Institution of Engineers (India) for study relief examination.
  • Practical working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
• Junior Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) (Diploma Holder):
  • 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution, or Diploma recognized by the Institution of Engineers (India).
  • Practical working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
• Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the final year of their Degree/Diploma course are eligible to apply, but they must acquire and submit proof of the prescribed qualification on or before the date of the recruitment examination.

RSSB Junior Engineer Pay Scale and Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive monthly remuneration under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix of the Government of Rajasthan:

• Pay Matrix Level: Pay Level L-10
• Probation Period: 2 Years
• Probation Pay: During the 2-year probation training period, a fixed monthly remuneration will be paid as per Government of Rajasthan rules. Standard allowances like DA, HRA, and CCA become admissible after successful completion and confirmation of probation.

RSSB Junior Engineer Selection Process & Exam Scheme

The recruitment examination is proposed to be held in February 2027 as a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Tablet-Based Test (TBT), or Offline OMR-based test:

1. Scheme of Examination (Total: 120 Marks, 120 Minutes)

2. Key Exam Guidelines & 5th Option Rule

• Question Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each question carrying equal marks.
• Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Score: Minimum 40% marks are mandatory to qualify for appointment.
• Mandatory 5th Option (Option E): Every question will have 5 options (A, B, C, D, E). If a candidate does not wish to attempt a question, they must darken Option E.
• Unattempted Deduction: If none of the 5 options are darkened, 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each such question (up to 10% of total questions).
• Disqualification on Blank OMR: Candidates leaving more than 10% questions blank without darkening any of the 5 options will be disqualified.
• Extra Time: 10 minutes of extra time will be provided after the test duration to verify that all bubbles are darkened.

2. Log in using your SSO ID and password.
3. Navigate to Citizen Apps (G2C) and click on the Recruitment Portal.
4. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) (if not completed previously) by paying the applicable registration fee.
5. Click on “Apply Now” against Junior Engineer Combined Direct Recruitment 2026 (Advt. No. 10/2026).
6. Select the post discipline (Degree / Diploma), choose departmental preferences (PWD, WRD, PHED), and fill in educational details.
7. Capture your live photograph via the portal (not older than 1 month) and upload your scanned signature (20 KB – 50 KB, JPEG) and left thumb impression.
8. Preview the entire application form, verify all details, and click Final Submit on or before 14 September 2026.
