MHRB Assam Faculty Application 2026: The Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHRB), Assam, has released an official recruitment notification (No: MHRB/72/Faculty/2026/5004) for direct recruitment to 492 vacant posts of Registrar, Demonstrator, and Resident Physician etc..

These regular positions are open in different departments of Government Medical Colleges under the Medical Education & Research Department, Government of Assam. Eligible candidates with Indian citizenship can submit their applications online through the official portal.

MHRB Assam Faculty Application Fee Details

• General Category Candidates: ₹250/-
• OBC / MOBC / SC / ST(P) / ST(H) Candidates: ₹150/-
• PWD Candidates: Completely exempt from paying application fees.
• Payment Mode (Offline): Deposited through Treasury Challan under the Head of Account: “0210-Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”.
• Payment Mode (Online): Paid online via the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) website: https://assamegras.gov.in.
• Note: Remitted fees are completely non-refundable. A printed copy of the Treasury Challan generated through GRAS must be submitted during document verification.

MHRB Assam Faculty Age Limit and Relaxations

The Age will be calculated as of 1 January 2026

MHRB Assam Faculty Educational Qualification Criteria

Candidates must possess the requisite qualifications along with a valid registration under the Assam Council of Medical Registration or the National Medical Commission (NMC) / MCI.

1. For Broad Specialties:

• Standard Departments: Must hold a Post-Graduate qualification degree (MD / MS / DNB / MDS) in the concerned subject from an institute recognized by the National Medical Commission / National Board of Education / Dental Council of India.
• Anatomy Department: MS (Anatomy) OR M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy) with a PhD in Medical Anatomy.
• Biochemistry Department: MD (Biochemistry) OR M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) with a PhD in Medical Biochemistry.
• Physiology Department: MD (Physiology) OR M.Sc. (Medical Physiology) with a PhD in Medical Physiology.

2. For Super Specialties:

• Medical Super Specialties (Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology): MD / DNB in General Medicine.
• Surgical Super Specialties (Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neuro-Surgery, Urology, Paediatric Surgery): MS / DNB in General Surgery.
• Preference Filter: Candidates possessing a DM / M.Ch. / DNB in the concerned super specialty subject will be granted higher preference/weightage.
• In-Service Weightage: Special weightage will be given to doctors working under Rule 17A of MHRB Regulations or those under contractual engagement in any healthcare institute under the Medical Education & Research Department, Assam. Doctors serving under DME, DHS, or NHM Assam are eligible to apply directly without a separate NOC.

MHRB Assam Faculty Pay Scale and Salary Structure

• Pay Scale Range: ₹57,700 – 1,82,400/- per month.
• Pay Matrix Level: Academic Level 10.
• Allowances: Other corporate and state allowances are admissible, as per prevailing department rules.

MHRB Assam Faculty Selection Process Details

• Selection Procedure: The exact selection modality will be finalized and notified later by the Board based on the quantum of applications received. It may involve a written test, personal interview, or basic screening parameters.
• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present all original testimonials (educational mark sheets, date of birth proof, caste certificates, PWD certificate, work experience, and original treasury challan) at the time of the personal interview.
