WCL Mining Sirdar & Assistant Foreman Educational Qualification Criteria
Qualifications must be full-time regular courses recognized by AICTE/Government bodies as on 10 August 2026. Distance/part-time qualifications are not eligible. Candidates with restricted competency certificates are also ineligible.
- Mining Sirdar, T&S Grade-C:
- Valid Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS + Valid Gas Testing Certificate + Valid First-Aid Certificate + 03 years of experience working in Underground Mines.
- OR Diploma in Mining Engineering from a government-recognized institute + Valid Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS + Valid Gas Testing Certificate + Valid First-Aid Certificate.
- Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical) / Electrical Supervisor, T&S Grade-C:
- Diploma (minimum 3 years course) in Electrical Engineering from a government-recognized institute.
- Valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate valid for Mines issued by the appropriate Government authority.
WCL Mining Sirdar & Assistant Foreman Pay Scale and Salary Structure
- Initial Basic Pay: ₹47,330.25 per month as per National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) XI.
- Training / Probation Period:
- Mining Sirdar: 6 months probation from the date of joining.
- Assistant Foreman (Electrical): 2 years training from the date of joining.
- Grade After Completion: T&S Grade-C.
- Allowances & Perks: Dearness Allowance (DA), Attendance Bonus, Special Allowance, HRA, Transport Subsidy, and Medical Facilities as per NCWA-XI provisions.
WCL Mining Sirdar & Assistant Foreman Selection Process Details
Selection is based on merit achieved in the competitive test followed by document scrutiny:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100 Objective Questions (100 Marks) for a duration of 90 Minutes.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates in a 1:3 ratio based on CBT merit will be called for document verification.
- Initial Medical Examination (IME): Selected candidates must be certified medically fit per WCL standards before appointment.
- Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of equal CBT marks, the older candidate is ranked higher. If a tie persists, alphabetical order of the candidate’s first name as per the 10th certificate determines rank.

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) available bilingually in English and Hindi.
