SPSC Sikkim Village Level Worker Application 2026: The Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) has released an official recruitment notification (Advt No.: 23/SPSC/EXAM/2026) for direct recruitment to 69 posts of Village Level Workers (VLW). These positions are on a temporary-regular basis in Level 9 of the Pay Matrix in the Sikkim State Subordinate Agriculture Service under the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Government of Sikkim. Candidates must fulfill the minimum prescribed academic qualification on or before the closing date of application:

  • Basic Degree: Must possess a minimum qualification of B.Sc. Agriculture or B.Sc. Horticulture from an Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) recognized University or Institute.
  • Specialized Requirement: Those possessing an M.Sc. in any discipline of Agriculture or Horticulture should mandatorily possess a B.Sc. Agriculture or Horticulture.
  • Status Alert: Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply in terms of Notification No. 177/GEN/DOP dated 29.01.2026.
  • Other Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and speak in one of the State languages and must be conversant with local customs and traditions of Sikkim.
  • Required Documents: Must possess Sikkim Subject Certificate/COI, valid Local Employment Card, Category Certificate, NOC (if employed), and Marital Status certificate (for female candidates) during online submission.
  • Pay Matrix Range: Level 9 of the Pay Matrix in the Sikkim State Subordinate Agriculture Service.
  • Perquisites: During the period of Probation/Apprenticeship/Training, pay shall be governed by Notification No. 489/GEN/DOP dated: 31.10.2011.
  • Written Examination: Selection relies entirely on the performance in the Written Examination.
  • Document Scrutiny: Those candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the scrutiny of documents and are required to submit attested photocopies of all relevant documents.
  • Identity Verification: Candidates must bring a valid Photo Identity proof like Aadhaar Card, Voters Card, or Driving License along with valid e-Admit cards to the examination center.
  • Candidature Status: Admission to all the stages of the examination shall be purely provisional.
  • The written exam has 2 Papers.
  • The Paper I has 60 MCQs of General English & 40 MCQs of General Knowledge. The total exam duration for Paper I is 1 Hour 30 Minutes.
  • Paper II has 300 MCQs on Agriculture and Horticulture. The exam duration is 3 hours.
