IBPS PO (Probationary Officer) Application 2026: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official common recruitment notification (CRP PO/MT-XVI) for the selection of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees (PO/MT) in participating public sector banks across India. This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill vacancies for the financial year 2027-28. Eligible graduates can register online through the official IBPS portal.

  • Essential Qualification: Candidates must possess a Graduation Degree (Degree in any discipline) from a university recognized by the Government of India or hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  • Crucial Qualification Date: The final graduation result must have been officially declared on or before 21.07.2026. Valid mark sheets or degree certificates indicating passing status within this timeline must be presented during the interview.
  • Pay Scale Matrix: Specialist Officers / Probationary Officers baseline tracks across basic pay of Rs. 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920.
  • Allowances: Appointed officers will be eligible for standard allowances, dearness compensation, and perquisites matching the active service guidelines of their allotted bank.

The systematic selection process is a two-tier system combined with interview parameters:

  1. Online Preliminary Examination: A common objective screening test.
  2. Online Main Examination: Consists of core objective sections and a descriptive writing segment. Marks obtained here are used for shortlisting candidates for interviews and calculating the final merit.
  3. Personality Test: A mandatory non-qualifying self-report profile round held right before the interview phase.
  4. Common Interview Stage: Allocation involves 100 marks total, requiring a minimum passing threshold of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates).
  5. Final provisional Allotment: Relative final score calculations apply an 80:20 weightage ratio combining Main Examination and Interview performances.
  • Total Structure: 100 Questions carrying 100 maximum marks.
  • Negative Penalty: 0.25 marks or 1/4th mark deduction applies per incorrect entry in objective testing sections. No deduction applies if a question is left blank.
  • Section Timing: Each test is separately timed for 20 minutes.

  3. Click on the designated link “Click Here for New Registration” to enter basic tracking records and fetch your provisional Registration Number and Password.
  4. Record required personal metrics and reservation profiles, and specify bank preference ranks carefully.
  5. Access camera or web functions during registration to capture and upload your live photo verification statement.
  6. Upload scanned copies of the mandatory application documents:
    • Passport-style color photograph (White background, 20 to 50 KB)
    • Formal signature (Black ink pen on white paper, NOT in capital letters, 10 to 20 KB)
    • Left thumb impression (Black/blue ink on white paper, 20 to 50 KB)
    • Handwritten declaration (Black ink on white paper, written in English, NOT in capital letters, 50 to 100 KB)
    • Declaration Text Layout: "I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required."
  7. Pay the mandatory non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 850/- or Rs. 175/- online using modern banking transaction panels.
  8. Check that your transaction status updates to “Completed”, take a hardcopy printout of the online application form and payment e-receipt, and keep them for document validation rounds.
