HPPSC HP Police Constable (Male & Female) Application 2026: The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released two official recruitment notifications (Advt No. 57/7-2026 and Advt No. 58/7-2026) for direct recruitment to 734 posts of Constables (Male & Female) Class-III (Non-Gazetted) in the Himachal Pradesh Police Department. Eligible and desirous candidates can submit their Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) through the official HPPSC website.

  • Academic Qualification: Must have passed Matriculation (10th) and +2 (12th) from any Institution, School, or Board situated within Himachal Pradesh.
  • Bonafide Exception: The condition of passing 10th and 12th within the state of HP does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
  • Reservation Benefit: Admissible only to the bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Required Documents to Upload: Matriculation certificate (as age proof), +2 certificate, valid category certificate, Bonafide Himachali certificate, Home Guard Service Certificate (if applicable), and valid EWS/BPL certificate.
  • Disqualification Alert: Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are not eligible to apply for this examination.
  • Pay Matrix Range: All posts will be filled regularly in the Pay Band Level-3 (Rs. 20200 – 64000) in the H.P. Police Department.
  • Training Clause: All selected constables must undergo induction training/Recruits Training Course (RTC). The newly recruited constable will undergo training at PTC Daroh. Failure to pass the training course makes the service liable to be terminated. The probation period is 2 years, including RTC.
  • Physical Test: Consists of Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department. This stage is of a qualifying nature alone, but marks are awarded for height.
  • Written Test: Candidates who clear the physical test will be provisionally admitted to an offline multiple-choice objective type screening test of 2 hours’ duration consisting of 90 marks.
  • Evaluation & Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on the zone of consideration will be called for document verification carried out by the Police Department. Marks for NCC certificates will be awarded at this stage.
  • Medical Examination: Conducted by the HP Police Department after receiving recommendations from the HPPSC.

The final merit list will be prepared based on a total of 100 Marks broken down as follows:

  • Objective Type Screening Test: 90 Marks
  • Height Measurement Marks: 06 Marks
  • NCC Certificate Marks: 04 Marks

  • 1500 Meters Race (Male Only): Must complete within 5 Minutes 30 Seconds (No additional attempt allowed).
  • 800 Meters Race (Female Only): Must complete within 3 Minutes 45 Seconds (No additional attempt allowed).
  • 100 Meters Race: Male must complete in 14 Seconds; Female must complete in 17 Seconds (No additional attempt).
  • High Jump: Male minimum 1.35 Meters; Female minimum 1.10 meters (Maximum 3 attempts allowed).
  • Broad Jump: Male minimum 4 Meters; Female minimum 3 Meters (Maximum 3 attempts allowed).
  • Duration & Marks: 2 hours consisting of 90 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying a total of 90 marks.
  • Negative Marking: For each wrong answer, or if a question is left blank (no circle blackened), a penalty of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
  • OMR E-Option Rule: If a candidate does not want to answer a question to avoid negative marking, she/he must blacken option “E” in the OMR answer sheet.
  • Medium: Bilingual (English & Hindi). In case of any disparity, the English version will be treated as final.
  • Syllabus Standard: The syllabus for the written examination will be of +2 standard and will be published shortly on the official website.
  • NCC “C” Certificate: 04 Marks
  • NCC “B” Certificate: 02 Marks
  • NCC “A” Certificate: 01 Marks
  • Note: A candidate possessing multiple certificates will be awarded marks for the NCC “C” Certificate only.

  • Click on the “Apply Online” link on the Home Page and select “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations”.
  • If you are a new user, register and create your profile by clicking “New Registration”. Registered users can directly log into their account.
  • Select the respective Constable recruitment advertisement from the live dashboard link.
  • Fill in all your personal details carefully and choose exactly ONE DISTRICT of your choice for the Physical Test and Written Test from the drop-down menu. No change in the district will be allowed after submission.
  • Upload legible scanned copies of your latest photograph, signature, matriculation certificate, +2 certificate, and valid category/bonafide certificates.
  • Accept the terms and conditions, pay the uniform examination fee of Rs. 600/- online through Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or other digital modes, and submit your application final copy.
