PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) Application 2026: The Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (PGVCL), on behalf of all Gujarat DISCOMs under GUVNL, has released a special recruitment notification for the post of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant). This special drive is exclusively for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates.   • Disability Benchmark: A minimum of 40% disability is mandatory to claim eligibility under the PwBD quota.
  • Inter-changeability: If category-wise candidates are not found, vacancies will be filled through inter-changeability among other available PwBD candidates based on merit.
  • Degree Requirement: Must possess a full-time regular or external/distance-learning B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.C.A., or B.B.A. degree from a UGC/AICTE-recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Minimum average of 55% marks in the final year or the last two semesters of graduation. No rounding off or upward adjustment of marks is allowed.
  • Distance Education Policy: Any course done through open distance learning or online mode must be accredited by NAAC (minimum score of 3.01 on a 4-point scale) or NBA (at least 650 points out of 1000).
  • Required Skills: Must possess knowledge of computer operations and have a good command of both English and Gujarati languages.
  • Local Reservation: A minimum of 85% of the selection is reserved for residents of the State of Gujarat. Candidates must produce a valid Domicile Certificate during document verification.
  • Fixed Remuneration: Selected candidates will get a fixed monthly remuneration for the initial 3 years:
    • 1st Year: Rs. 22,750/- per month
    • 2nd Year: Rs. 24,700/- per month
    • 3rd Year: Rs. 26,650/- per month
  • Allowances: No other allowances or benefits are admissible except for the regular reimbursement of TA/DA as per company rules.
  • Regular Pay Scale: Upon successful completion of 3 years of satisfactory service, candidates may be considered for a regular establishment post in the pay scale of Rs. 25,000 – 55,800.
  • Centralized Allotment: The recruitment is centralized. Candidates will be allotted to different companies (PGVCL, DGVCL, MGVCL, UGVCL) based on their merit rank, available vacancies, and preferences given in the form.
  • Two-Tier Examination: Selection will be based entirely on two tiers of competitive exams.
  • First Tier Exam: Conducted via online or offline mode. Candidates must score 45 or more marks to qualify for the second tier.
  • Second Tier Exam: Open only to candidates clearing Tier-I. The final selection list and ranking will be determined purely based on the marks secured in the Second Tier Examination.
  • Tie-Breaking Criteria: If scores are equal, priority is given to the elder candidate. If the date of birth is also identical, alphabetical order of the first name determines seniority.
  • Grace Marks for Widows: Female widow candidates will get 5% grace marks over and above their Tier-II scores, provided they have not remarried.

The question papers for both tiers consist of 100 questions of 1 mark each. There is a negative marking system where 1/4th mark (0.25) is deducted for every wrong answer.

  • Gujarati (Grammar, Idioms, Spelling corrections, Synonyms): 20 Marks
  • General Knowledge (Current Affairs, Indian Polity, Geography, History, Science & Tech, Economics): 10 Marks
  • Computer Knowledge: 20 Marks
  • Total: 100 Marks
  • English: 20 Marks
  • Gujarati: 20 Marks
  • Polity / Public Administration / RTI Act: 20 Marks
  • History, Geography, Cultural Heritage: 15 Marks
  • Economics, Environment, Science & Technology: 15 Marks
  • Current Affairs: 10 Marks
  • Total: 100 Marks

Note: In case of any ambiguity or dispute over interpretation, the English version of the paper will be considered final.

  • Before filling out the main form, candidates must expressly provide their ascending order of preference (Choice No. 1, 2, 3, 4) for the four DISCOM companies.
  • Fill in all the registration fields carefully. Details cannot be edited once final submission is processed.
  • If you require a scribe for the exam, you must select the appropriate choice in the application form.
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 250/- online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
  • Download and take a printout of the successfully submitted online application form for future verification rounds.
  • Note: Bring a printed copy of your application form with a recent photo affixed, alongside your hall ticket, to enter the exam venue.
