PNB Local Bank Officer Application 2026: The Punjab National Bank (PNB), a leading Public Sector Bank in India, has published an official recruitment notification for the recruitment of Local Bank Officers (LBO) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I).

  • Single State Limitation: A candidate can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT.
  • Horizontal Reservation: Out of total posts, 22 vacancies are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across OC, HI, VI, and ID categories.

Eligibility metrics must be possessed on or before 09 August 2026.

  • Educational Qualification: Must be a Graduate in any discipline from a University/Institution recognized by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies. Valid marksheet or degree certificate showing result declaration on or before 09.08.2026 is mandatory.
  • Mandatory Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification work experience in Clerical or Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB) listed under the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.
  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, and speaking) in the specified local language of the state applied for.
  • Pay Scale Range: ₹48,480 – 2000/7 – 62480 – 2340/2 – 67160 – 2680/7 – 85920 (JMGS-I Scale).
  • Allowances & Perks: Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession (LFC), Medical Insurance, and Retirement Benefits as per bank rules.
  • Advance Increments: Candidates with prior officer-cadre experience in Scheduled Commercial Banks may receive up to 2 advance increments.
  • Service Indemnity Bond: Selected candidates must execute an Indemnity Bond to serve the Bank for at least 3 years or pay ₹2,00,000/- in case of leaving earlier.
  • Probation Period: 2 years from the date of joining.
  • Credit History: Must maintain a minimum CIBIL score of 680 or above at the time of joining.

Selection for Local Bank Officer will be conducted in four consecutive phases:

  1. Online Written Test: Objective-type examination comprising 150 questions for 150 marks.
  2. Screening: Document scrutiny of written-test qualified candidates before the language test/interview.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Qualifying test to assess reading, writing, and speaking skills. Candidates who studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempted upon producing documentary proof.
  4. Personal Interview: Carries 50 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 45% (22.50) for SC/ST and 50% (25) for other categories.
  • Final Merit List: Prepared state-wise and category-wise based on the combined aggregate scores obtained in the Online Written Test and Personal Interview, subject to qualifying the LLPT.

The Online Written Test consists of 5 objective sections with a total duration of 180 Minutes (3 Hours).

  • Negative Marking: One-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect response.
  • Sectional Cut-Off: Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for Reserved categories in each individual section.

  • Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and register with your name, active mobile number, and email ID.
  • A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be sent via SMS and Email.
  • Fill in personal attributes, graduation percentage, experience details, and select only one State.
  • Upload clear scanned copies of required files:
    • Passport Size Photo (20 KB – 50 KB in JPG)
    • Signature in black ink (10 KB – 20 KB in JPG)
    • Left Thumb Impression (20 KB – 50 KB in JPG)
    • Handwritten Declaration (50 KB – 100 KB in JPG)
    • 10th/12th Mark sheets, Graduation Mark sheets/Degree, Experience Certificate, and Caste/Disability Certificate (PDF format, max 500 KB each).
  • Handwritten Declaration Text: "I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required."
  • Preview your application details, click “COMPLETE REGISTRATION”, and pay the application fee (₹1,180/- for Gen/OBC/EWS or ₹59/- for SC/ST/PwBD) online.
