OPSC Assistant Horticulture Officer Application 2026: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has published an official recruitment advertisement (Advt. No. 06 of 2026-27) for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Horticulture Officer (Group-B) in Class-II of Odisha Horticulture Service.

Note: Candidates belonging to Ex-Servicemen and PwD categories will be adjusted against the social categories (UR/SC/ST) to which they belong. In case of non-availability of eligible women candidates, the unfilled vacancies will be filled up by eligible male candidates of the same category.

Candidates must fulfill the essential qualification as on the online application closing date (28 August 2026):

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture [B.Sc. (Horticulture)] or Agriculture [B.Sc. (Agriculture)] from any recognized University or Institution in India.
  • Ineligibility: No other equivalent qualification except a Degree in Horticulture or Agriculture will be accepted.
  • Odia Language Requirement: Candidate must be able to read, write, and speak Odia, and must have passed Middle School / Class VII / Matriculation with Odia as a subject.
  • Pay Level: Level-10, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017.
  • Pre-revised Scale: Pay Band-2 (₹9,300 – 34,800/-) with Grade Pay of ₹4,600/-.
  • Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA) and other usual allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Selection for Assistant Horticulture Officer will be made through a two-stage competitive examination:

  1. Written Examination: Objective MCQ type pattern carrying 200 Marks.
  2. Personality Test / Interview: Carries 25 Marks.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates in a 1:2 ratio based on written test scores will be called for the interview and document verification.

  • Upon successful registration, a unique Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN) will be generated.
  • Fill in personal attributes, category data, and B.Sc. Horticulture/Agriculture qualification marks accurately.
  • Upload scanned images of your recent passport-size photograph, full signature, Left-Hand Thumb Impression (LTI), and essential certificates.
  • Pay the application fee of ₹700/- online (if applicable) and enter your active bank details for the refund process.
  • Submit the application form before the closing date (28 August 2026, 05:00 PM).
  • Print out the submitted online application form and keep it safe for submission during Document Verification.
