All academic qualifications must be from recognized universities in India. Experience gained during internships, teaching, or training will not be counted for eligibility.

1. Assistant Manager (Law) (Grade: JMGS-I)

  • Educational Qualification (As on 31.05.2026): Must be a Graduate with a degree in Law or a Law Graduate. (A 5-year integrated law course may be given preference).
  • Mandatory Post-Qualification Experience (As on 31.05.2026):
    • Law graduates enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council, having a minimum of 02 years of experience as a practicing advocate. OR
    • 02 Years of experience as a Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks. OR
    • 02 years of combined experience as a practicing advocate and a Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks. (Note: Experience must be gained after enrollment as an advocate with the Bar Council).

2. Deputy Manager (Law) (Grade: MMGS-II)

  • Educational Qualification (As on 31.05.2026): Must be a Graduate with a degree in Law or a Law Graduate. (A 5-year integrated law course may be given preference).
  • Mandatory Post-Qualification Experience (As on 31.05.2026):
    • Law graduates enrolled as Advocates with the Bar Council, having a minimum of 04 years of experience as a practicing advocate. OR
    • 04 Years of experience as a Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks. OR
    • 04 years of combined experience as a practicing advocate and a Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks. (Note: Experience must be gained after enrollment as an advocate with the Bar Council).

Selected officials will be governed by the standard Service Rules applicable to the employees of SBI. They will receive a basic pay scale along with DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS benefits, LFC, and medical facilities:

  • Assistant Manager (Law) [JMGS-I]: Pay Scale of Rs. 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920.
  • Deputy Manager (Law) [MMGS-II]: Pay Scale of Rs. 64820-2340/1-67160-2680/10-93960.

The selection layout will be strictly based on competitive parameters comprising the following consecutive stages:

Merit & Weightage Key Note: Candidates must clear the minimum qualifying marks in qualifying papers as decided by the Bank. The final merit list will be prepared by combining the scores of the Online Written Test (Professional Knowledge + Descriptive) and the Interview with a 70:30 weightage pattern respectively.

  • CIBIL Score Filter Mandate: Candidates who have defaulted in repayment under any lending arrangement with Banks/NBFCs (including credit card dues) and have not regularized or repaid their outstanding dues till the date of recruitment offer are not eligible for appointment.
  • Employment NOC Rule: Candidates serving in Govt, Quasi-Govt offices, or PSUs must compulsorily submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their current employer at the time of the interview.
  • Single Post Restriction: Candidates are not allowed to apply for more than one post. If multiple registrations are made, only the last valid application will be kept.
  • Biometric Verification: The Bank may capture an IRIS Scan (Left Eye) or thumb impressions in digital format at various selection stages to verify applicant’s genuineness.
