JKPSC Assistant Professor Educational Qualification Criteria
- Domicile Requirement: Candidate must be a Domicile of UT of Jammu & Kashmir possessing a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority on or before 31 August 2026.
Position-Wise Educational Requirements
- Assistant Professor (General Disciplines):
- Master’s Degree: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Differently-abled) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject.
- NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D.: Must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET/SLET/SET accredited by UGC OR awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016. Alternatively, a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 World University Rankings (QS/THE/ARWU) qualifies.
- Assistant Professor (Computer Application): Master’s degree in relevant subject with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/Differently-abled) + NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D.
- Librarian: Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Differently-abled) + NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D.
- College Director of Physical Education & Sports: Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports / Sports Science with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Differently-abled) + Record of representing University/College + Physical Fitness Test + NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. (Asian/Commonwealth Games medalists with PG degree are also eligible).

JKPSC Assistant Professor Selection Process Details
Selection for Assistant Professor and equivalent posts will be made as per Rule 45 of J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021:
- Written Examination: Single paper containing 120 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 3 hours duration.
- Document Verification: Verification of original academic, domicile, and category documents.
