BARC Scientific Assistant Application 2026: The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released an official recruitment advertisement (Advertisement No. 06/2026 (R-I)). Upper Age Relaxations:

• Departmental Candidates: Relaxable as per Government of India rules for employees who have rendered not less than 3 years of continuous service.
• Children/Family Members of 1984 Riot Victims: 5 years relaxation.
• Widows, Divorced Women & Judicially Separated Women: Concessions admissible as per central government orders.
• Meritorious Sportspersons: Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India guidelines.
• Age Proof: Only the Date of Birth as recorded in the School Leaving Certificate or equivalent document will be accepted.

BARC Scientific Assistant Educational Qualification Criteria

Candidates must acquire the requisite educational qualifications on or before the closing date of application (18 August 2026).

• Scientific Assistant/C (Psychologist) (Post Code DR/01): Graduation in Psychology with a minimum of 60% marks PLUS Post Graduation in Applied Psychology / Psychology with specialization in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Scientific Assistant/B (Pathology) (Post Code DR/02): B.Sc with minimum 60% marks followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) with minimum 60% marks OR a regular B.Sc in Medical Lab Technology (MLT) with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Scientific Assistant/B (Radiography) (Post Code DR/03): B.Sc in Radiography with a minimum of 60% marks OR B.Sc with minimum 50% marks + a 1-year Diploma in Radiography.
• Scientific Assistant/B (Nuclear Medicine Technologist) (Post Code DR/04): B.Sc with minimum 60% marks + DMRIT / DNMT / DFIT with minimum 50% marks (Diploma in Medical Radio-Isotope Techniques / Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology / Diploma in Fusion Imaging Technology) OR B.Sc in Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) with a minimum of 60% marks.

Required Post Qualification Experience:

• Scientific Assistant/C (Psychologist): Preference will be given to candidates possessing a minimum of 1 year of hospital or clinical experience after acquiring their Post Graduate degree.
• Other Post Codes (DR/02, DR/03, DR/04): Prior experience is not mandatory. Fresh candidates fulfilling essential academic qualifications are eligible.

BARC Scientific Assistant Pay Scale and Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive entry basic pay along with central government allowances (HRA, DA, TA) as admissible under rules:

• Scientific Assistant/C (Psychologist): Pay Level-7 | Entry Pay: ₹44,900/- per month.
• Scientific Assistant/B (Pathology / Radiography / NMT): Pay Level-6 | Entry Pay: ₹35,400/- per month.
• Perquisites & Benefits: Employees are entitled to healthcare coverage for self and family, Merit Promotion Scheme, Professional Update Allowance, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Children Education Allowance, and Departmental Accommodation.
• Pension Policy: Governed by the National Pension System (NPS) or Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) as per government orders.

BARC Scientific Assistant Selection Process Details

• Mode of Selection: Selection will be strictly based on candidate performance in the Personal Interview.
• Screening Test Clause: If the number of applications received is high, BARC reserves the right to conduct a Screening Test in the respective discipline to restrict the number of candidates called for the interview round.
• Outstation TA Support: SC/ST candidates called for written test/interview will be reimbursed second-class railway fare by the shortest route upon producing valid travel tickets and caste proofs.
