GSSSB Municipal Engineer Application 2026: Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has published an official recruitment advertisement (Advt. No. 440/202627) for direct recruitment to the post of Municipal Engineer, Class-3.

• Payment Mode: Online mode only via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or Wallets.
• Fee Refund Policy: The examination fee will be 100% refunded to candidates who actually appear for the competitive examination through the original mode of payment.

GSSSB Municipal Engineer Educational Qualification Criteria

Candidates must fulfill all qualification parameters on or before the closing date of the application (10 August 2026):

1. Essential Engineering Degree: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Technology obtained from a recognized University in India or a deemed university under UGC Act.
2. Equivalent Degrees Allowed: Degrees in Civil (Environmental & Pollution Control), Civil (Construction Technology), Civil (Environment Engineering), Civil (Public Health & Environment), Construction & Project Management, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Urban Planning, Town & Country Planning, etc., are explicitly recognized as equivalent.
3. Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services rules.
4. Language Requirement: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

GSSSB Municipal Engineer Pay Scale and Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be appointed initially on a fixed pay scale as per Gujarat State Government rules:

• Initial Fixed Pay (First 5 Years): ₹49,600/- per month.
• Regular Pay Scale (After 5 Years): Upon completion of 5 years of satisfactory service, candidates will be absorbed in regular 7th Pay Matrix Level-7 (₹39,900 – ₹1,26,600/- per month) along with regular DA and allowances.

GSSSB Municipal Engineer Selection Process Details

Selection for the post of Municipal Engineer, Class-3 will be carried out through a competitive examination and document verification:

1. Competitive Written Examination (CBRT / OMR Mode): A single-stage competitive exam carrying 210 Questions for 210 Marks.
2. Qualifying Standard Filter: Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% qualifying marks in Part-A and 40% qualifying marks in Part-B separately.
3. Document Verification (DV): Candidates scoring equal to or above the qualifying standard will be called for document verification in approximately 1:2 ratio based on merit.

GSSSB Municipal Engineer Exam Pattern and Written Test Syllabus

The exam will be held in objective MCQ pattern (CBRT or OMR) for a total duration of 3 Hours (180 Minutes):

Marking Scheme Highlights:

• Positive Marks: Each question carries 1 Mark (or pro-rata weighted mark).
• Negative Marking: Deduction of 1/4th (25%) mark for each wrong answer.

• Fill in your personal information, address, educational details, and civil engineering qualification entries.
• Upload a recent passport-size photograph with white background (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width, file size up to 15 KB in JPG format) and signature in black ink (2.5 cm x 7.5 cm, up to 15 KB).
• Click “Confirm Application” to generate your unique Confirmation Number.
• Proceed to “Pay Fees” and remit the non-refundable examination fee (₹500/- for General or ₹400/- for Reserved categories) via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI before 13 August 2026 (23:59 Hrs).
