Who Should Apply for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET)?

A. Level-I-For becoming a Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Teacher (PRT)
  • Passed Graduation Examination from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year D.El.Ed (B.T.C) from an institution affiliated to the Government of Uttar Pradesh after recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Or
  • Passed Graduation Examination from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appeared in the final year of the two-year B.T.C. of untrained/graduate Shikshamitras through distance education method. Or
  • Passed Graduation from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Education (D.Ed.) from an Institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), / two year Diploma in Education (D.Ed. Special Education) from an Institution recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Or
  • Graduated from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in the final year of specialized B.T.C training recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education operating in Uttar Pradesh. Or
  • Graduated from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appeared in the final year of the two-year B.T.C. Urdu Special Training conducted in Uttar Pradesh. Or
  • Graduation from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in the final year of Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University. Or
  • Graduated from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and holder of Maulvi-e-Urdu degree from Aligarh Muslim University before 11.98.1997 (for Urdu teacher). Or
  • Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
B. Level-2-For becoming a Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Upper Primary Teacher
  • Passed Graduation Examination from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year D.El.Ed (B.T.C) from an institution affiliated to the Government of Uttar Pradesh after recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Or
  • Graduation or Post Graduation with minimum 50% marks from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in the final year
  • Graduation or Post Graduation with minimum 45% marks from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) as per the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. Or
  • Graduation or Post Graduation with minimum 50% marks from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. in Pedagogy (Special Education) from an Institution recognized by NCTE/Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Or
  • Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.Ed/B.A.B.Ed from an NCTE/UGC recognized institution. Or
  • Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 4-year B.Sc.Ed/B.Sc.B.Ed. course from an NCTE/UGC recognized institution. Or
  • Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks from a University/College established by law and recognized by UGC, and passed or appearing in one year of B.Ed. (Special Education) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
