Punjab Primary PTI Educational Qualification Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the qualification criteria specified under the Punjab State Elementary Education (Physical Training Instructor) Rules:
- Academic Qualification: Must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) examination with at least a 2-Year Diploma or Certificate in Physical Education (such as D.P.Ed / C.P.Ed) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/University.
- Final Year Students: Candidates in the final year of their D.P.Ed / C.P.Ed diploma course are eligible to apply, provided they pass and obtain their diploma on or before the date of the written examination.
- Mandatory Punjabi Test: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th) with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject. In addition, candidates must qualify a Qualifying Test of Punjabi Language (Matriculation Standard) securing at least 50% marks.
Punjab Primary PTI Physical Eligibility Test (PET) Parameters
The Physical Eligibility Test (PET) is qualifying in nature. Candidates must complete at least 3 out of 5 components to qualify:

Punjab Primary PTI Pay Scale and Salary Structure
- Fixed Pay Scale: ₹29,200/- per month (fixed pay without additional allowances during probation).
- Probation Period: 3 years as per Punjab Government rules.
Punjab Primary PTI Selection Process Details
Selection will be conducted based on a multi-stage evaluation process:
- Stage 1 (Mandatory Punjabi Test): Qualifying Punjabi Language Exam of 10th standard level (minimum 50% marks required). Evaluation of the main written test depends on passing this paper.
- Stage 2 (Departmental Written Test): Objective Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) written paper of 70 Marks.
- Stage 3 (Physical Eligibility Test – PET): Qualifying physical test (3 out of 5 events must be cleared).
- Stage 4 (Sports Gradation Weightage): Up to 30 Marks weightage based on sports achievement gradation certificates issued by the Punjab Sports Department:
- Grade A: 30 Marks
- Grade B: 25 Marks
- Grade C: 10 Marks
- Grade D: 05 Marks
- Final Selection Merit List: Prepared out of 100 Marks (Written Test 70 Marks + Sports Weightage 30 Marks).
