  • Core Academic Background: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) OR a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized university.
  • Alternative Qualification: Candidates holding a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) can apply, provided they have approximately 2 years of relevant experience in the pharmacy sector.
  • Mandatory Registration: Candidates must possess a valid registration certificate or must register with the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council at the time of appointment.
  • Additional Mandates: Must possess basic knowledge of computer operations and software tracking applications, along with command over Hindi, Gujarati, or both languages.

Selected candidates will receive structured government pay terms distributed across two distinct service phases:

  • Initial Fixed Pay Phase: Candidates will receive a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 40,800/- per month for the first 5 years of service.
  • Regular Scale Phase: After successful completion of the 5-year fixed pay term, candidates will be absorbed into the regular pay scale matrix of Rs. 29,200/- to Rs. 92,300/- (Pay Level-5).
  1. Competitive Written Examination: An objective evaluation test held to filter out candidates based on qualifying cutoff scores.
  2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be invited to showcase their original education mark sheets, pharmacy registrations, and identity documents.
  3. Final Merit Compilation: The board compiles final selection lists purely based on the scores achieved in the written test phase.
  • The test will be conducted either through OMR-based MCQ sheets OR using a Computer-Based Response Test (CBRT) framework.
  • All sections will comprise compulsory Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • General awareness questions will be set in Gujarati, while professional core pharmacy questions will be presented in English.
  • The question paper will consist of a total of 210 questions carrying a maximum weightage of 210 marks.
  • Part-A (General Aptitude – 60 Marks): Comprises General Studies/GK (20 Marks), Reasoning & Math (20 Marks), and Gujarati & Hindi Language parameters (20 Marks).
  • Part-B (Technical Pharmacy – 150 Marks): Features core domain-specific questions matching the PCI-approved syllabus for B.Pharm and D.Pharm courses.
  • Total Time Duration: Candidates will receive a composite duration of 3 hours (180 minutes) to complete the examination.
  • Negative Marking System: A penalty deduction of 0.25 marks (1/4th) will apply for every wrong option selected by the candidate.
  • E-Option Rule: For OMR sheets, candidates who do not want to attempt a question must mark ‘Option E’ (Not Attempted) to prevent negative score deductions.
