Who Should Apply for the BCECE Senior Resident / Tutor?
- As per the updated guidelines of NMC (Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025), DNB / DNB Super Speciality will be considered as a valid qualification for selection to the post of Senior Resident / Tutor.
- The minimum educational qualification for the position of Senior Resident/Tutor will be a master’s degree in the specific subject. In the event of a shortage of qualified candidates, the minimum educational qualification will be a diploma, which will also carry 10 points, equivalent to a master’s degree in the specific subject. However, their merit list will be lower than that of candidates with a master’s degree. Teachers of the Medical Council of India, equivalent to postgraduate degree holders, as per the eligibility qualification, will also be eligible for selection.
- For non-medical disciplines such as Biochemistry, a Doctor of Philosophy degree, along with a Medical Master of Science, is required.
- 40% of the posts of Senior Resident/Tutor will be filled from the members of Bihar State Health Services Cadre and 40% of the posts will be filled from the doctors who have completed post graduate degree course (under Residency Scheme) from Medical Colleges of the State and the remaining 20% posts will be filled from the doctors who have obtained post graduate degree (under Residency Scheme) from recognized institutions outside the State.
