JKPSC Assistant Professor Educational Qualification Criteria
- Domicile Requirement: Candidate must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir holding a valid Domicile Certificate issued on or before 31 August 2026.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree: Must hold a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject.
- NET / SLET / SET / Ph.D.: Must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET/SLET/SET accredited by UGC OR awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016.
- Exemptions: NET/SLET/SET is not required for disciplines where UGC/CSIR does not conduct such tests. Candidates with a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 World University Rankings (QS/THE/ARWU) are also eligible.

- Pay Level: Level-10
- Pay Scale Band: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400/- per month plus applicable usual state allowances.
JKPSC Assistant Professor Selection Process Details
Selection will be carried out in accordance with Rule 45 of J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021:
- Written Examination: Single paper containing 120 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 3 hours duration.
- Document Verification: Verification of original academic certificates, domicile status, and category certificates.
