CG SET 2026 Notification Out: Apply Online for Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test

CG SET Application 2026: Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board (CGSSB / CG Vyapam), Raipur, has released the official examination notification (No. / SSB / Exam F 20/2026/3150) for the Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test (CG SET 2026) under the Directorate of Higher Education.

This state-level eligibility examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities across Chhattisgarh. Interested and eligible candidates can fill out their online application form through the official CGSSB portal.

As per Chhattisgarh Government rules, candidates who are local residents of Chhattisgarh and actively appear in the CG SET 2026 examination will receive a 100% refund of their examination fee. The refunded amount will be credited back to the same bank account used during online application payment after the exam results are declared.

Candidates applying for CG SET 2026 must fulfill the following qualification norms:

  • Educational Qualification: Post Graduate (Master’s Degree) or equivalent in the relevant subject from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum Marks in Master’s Degree:
    • General / Unreserved Candidates: Minimum 55% aggregate marks.
    • Reserved Categories (SC / ST / OBC Non-Creamy Layer / PwD / Transgender): Minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  • Age Limit: There is NO upper age limit to apply for the Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test (CG SET 2026).

The CG SET 2026 examination will consist of two objective-type papers held in two separate sessions on the same day:

  • Marks per Question: Each correct response carries 2 Marks.
  • Negative Marking: NO Negative Marking for wrong or unattempted answers in Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Language Medium: Questions will be objective multiple-choice pattern in English and Hindi.

To qualify in CG SET 2026, candidates must appear in both Paper-I and Paper-II and meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Aggregate Score Filter:
    • General Category: Must secure at least 40% aggregate marks taking both papers together.
    • Reserved Categories (SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PwD / Transgender): Must secure at least 35% aggregate marks taking both papers together.
  • Top 6% Rule: Only the Top 6% of total appearing candidates across both papers who clear the category-wise minimum aggregate marks will be declared SET qualified for Assistant Professor eligibility.

  • Select your subject for Paper-II and choose your preferred exam district center.
  • Pay the application fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
