- Direct Recruitment: A graduate in Biology, Agriculture, or Animal Husbandry from a university established by law in India.
- Departmental Candidates: Departmental employees who, as of the first day of the recruitment year, have completed five years of continuous service in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Uttarakhand, and have passed the Intermediate examination with Biology or Agriculture as a subject from the Uttarakhand Board of School Education and Examinations or the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Government.
- Preferential Qualifications:— Other things being equal, in the case of direct recruitment, preference shall be given to a candidate who:— 1. has served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of 2 years; or 2. has obtained a “C” or “B” Certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
