Who Should Apply for the NARL Junior Research Fellow, Scientist/Engineer?
Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’
- Ph.D. degree in Physics/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Meteorology/ Earth Science/ Environmental Science or Equivalent from a recognized university/ institutions. And
- M.Sc. or MS in Physical Sciences/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Meteorology/ Earth Science/ Environmental Science in First class with an aggregate.
- Desirable Qualification/Experience: Expertise in air quality observations and modeling/ climate modeling, parallel programming/ high – performance computing.
Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’
- M.E / M. Tech Degree in RF, Microwave, and Communication System Engineering in First class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/CPI from a recognized university/institution. And
- B.E/ B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering in First class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or equivalent CGPA/CPI from a recognized university/institution.
- Desirable Qualification/Experience: Expertise in radar system engineering.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- (a) Post Graduate degree in the following subjects :
- Physics / Atmospheric Science / Space Physics / Meteorology / Earth System Sciences / Geophysics / Remote Sensing / Applied Chemistry with Physics / Atmospheric Science / Space Physics / Meteorology as a major subject. OR
- Any Specialization of Electronics Engineering / Communication Engineering / Optical Engineering / Photonics / Instrumentation Engineering. AND
- (b) Qualified in CSIR-UGC NET / GATE / JAM / JEST
NARL Junior Research Fellow, Scientist/Engineer Salary Details

- Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’: Basic Pay – Rs. 67700/- p.m in L – 11 (Rs. 67700 – 208700/-) Plus TA and HRA as admissible
- Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’: Basic Pay – Rs. 56100/- p.m in L – 10 (Rs. 56100 – 177500/-) Plus TA and HRA as admissible
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Fellowship Amount: For 1st & 2nd years Rs. 37,000/- per month for the subsequent years Rs. 42,000/- per month
