| General Duty (GD) | (i) Should hold a Graduate Degree from a recognised university.
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent. The candidates who have completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided they possess a diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum. |
| Technical(Mechanical /Electrical/Electronics) | (i) Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical, or Aerospace.
OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institution of Engineers (India) as exempted from sections „A‟ and „B‟ and their associate membership examination (AMIE). (ii) Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering, or Power Electronics. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of Engineers (India) as exempted from sections „A‟ and „B‟ and their associate membership examination (AMIE). Basic pay of ₹ 56,100/- (Pay Level-10) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on the nature of duty/ place of posting as per the prevailing regulations.

Height. Asst Commandant (GD), Tech: 157 cms minimum. The reduction in the minimum height requirement for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be governed by Central Government regulations.
Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.

How to Apply for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant 2027 Batch
- Candidates need to visit the official website of the Indian Coast Guard or the link given in the link section.
- Follow the instructions for registering with your email ID/mobile number. The candidates are to ensure the validity of their e-mail and mobile number at least up to 15 January 2027.
- Multi-option entry scheme: Candidates who fulfil eligibility criteria for both the General Duty branch and the Technical branches as mentioned in Para „2‟ may apply for both the branches, indicating Option-I and Option-II. During the processing of Stage I results and shortlisting for Stage II (PSB), candidates will be considered only in the branch of their first preference. Consideration of the second preference will be effective only at the time of preparation of the final merit list, as explained in Para „14‟
- If any candidate fills multiple applications in one particular recruitment cycle, their latest application will be accepted, and all previously filled applications will be rejected. However, fees will not be refunded.
- Online application will be further scrutinised in every stage and on joining service for eligibility and may be rejected at any time, if found ineligible in any respect.
- Documents to be uploaded in the application: The candidates will be required to upload documents in two phases. Few documents are required during the initial online application stage, and a few are required to be uploaded after being shortlisted for Stage II. The candidates are to scan the original documents (neither photocopy nor self-attested photocopy is to be scanned) as applicable for the post applied and upload in the online application.
