Naval Dockyard Apprentices Age Limit

No upper age restriction for apprenticeship training as per the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum No. F.No. MSDE-14(03)/2021 AP-(PMU) dated 20 Dec 21. Minimum age is 14 years, and for hazardous trades it is 18 years according to ‘The Apprentices Act 1961. Accordingly, candidates born on or before 02 May 2012 are eligible for non-hazardous trades, and candidates born on or before 02 May 2008 are eligible for hazardous trades.

Naval Dockyard Apprentices Salary Details

Salary: Admissibility of monthly stipend is based on Section 13 of ‘The Apprentices Act 1961 and ‘The Apprenticeship Rules 1992 read in conjunction with ‘The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2019’, Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2025, MSDE Office Memorandum DGT-36/1/2021-AP dated 15 Sep 25 and DGT-36/1/2021-AP dated 23 Sep 25. The stipend payable will range from Rs. 9,600/- to Rs. 10,560/- per month.

How to Apply for Naval Dockyard Apprentices 2025

Candidates need to visit the official website of https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/ or the link given in the link section.
Candidates have to first register themselves in the online portal at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) mandatorily.
Before registration, the candidate must ensure that the name and date of birth on both the Aadhar card and the SSC/ matriculation certificate are the same. Otherwise, change the details in the Aadhar card according to the SSC certificate.
Open www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. web portal. Click on the ‘Register’ module on the home page and click on ‘Candidate’ from the drop-down menu.
The candidate registration page would open. Fill up all the basic details like name, DOB, valid e-mail address, mobile number, etc. correctly and submit. Post submission, a system-generated auto mail would be received through email for profile activation. Activate your profile to complete registration.
After registration, log in to www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. web portal with the username (registered mail ID) and password. Enter educational details, contact address, trade preference, Aadhar, PAN & bank details, community, etc., upload all supporting documents, and validate Aadhar number to complete 100% profile completion.
Thereafter, click on ‘Apprenticeship Opportunities’ on the home page and click on ‘Search by Establishment Name’ from the menu and enter “NAVAL DOCKYARD” (Establishment ID: E08152800002) in capital letters and select Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam. A list of trades operated in the Naval dockyard, Visakhapatnam, will be displayed. Then select “Apply” against the desired trade. Any further instructions may be followed as per the apprenticeship portal guidelines.
After applying for the trade, take a printout of the complete profile for forwarding to DAS (Vzg) along with the application.
Take a printout of two copies of the hall ticket (format placed at Annexure – I of this advertisement), duly fill in with a ballpoint pen, and paste a recent passport colour photograph at the earmarked box.
Apprentice profile, two original hall tickets and all relevant documents along with check-off list placed at Annexure- II of this advertisement indicating status of enclosed documents are required to be forwarded in an envelope cover (Write trade name on application envelop cover) to “The Officer-in-Charge (for Apprenticeship), Navał Dockyard Apprentices School, VM Naval Base S.O., P.O., Visakhapatnam – 530 014, Andhra Pradesh” by Post. This would be considered the offline application for the purpose of enrollment.
A self-addressed empty envelope affixed with Rs. 55/- postal stamps (for dispatching the hall ticket to the candidate through Speed Post) shall be forwarded along with the application.
Last date of receipt of applications at DAS (V) is 02 January 2026.
It is the sole responsibility of applicants to ensure their applications reach DAS (Vzg) within the due date of receipt of applications. DAS (Vzg) will not accept applications after the last date for any reason.
