Bihar STET 2026: Apply Online for Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test

Bihar STET Application 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), Patna has officially released the detailed notification for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026.

The eligibility examination will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Paper-I (Secondary – Classes 9 to 10) and Paper-II (Higher Secondary – Classes 11 to 12) across various teaching subjects. Eligible and interested candidates can submit their online applications through the official BSEB application portal.

  • Scheduled Tribe – ST (Male / Female): 42 Years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD): Relaxation of 10 Years in the upper age limit.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation of 3 Years + Period of Military Service (Maximum age must not exceed 57 years at the time of application).
  • Note: Age relaxation and category reservation benefits apply only to permanent residents of Bihar State.

Candidates must fulfill the prescribed academic and teacher training requirements as on the closing date:

  • General Subjects: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (45% for specific NCTE norms) from a recognized University, along with a B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized institution. (OR) 4-Year Integrated B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed in the relevant subject.
  • Physical Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) with at least 50% marks or graduation with relevant sports participation credentials.
  • Music / Fine Arts / Dance: Bachelor’s Degree in Music / Fine Arts / Dance with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University/Board.
  • Special School Teacher: Graduation with at least 50% marks + B.Ed in Special Education with a valid CRR Number from the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
  • General Subjects: Master’s Degree (Post Graduation) in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks (45% for specific NCTE norms) from a recognized University, along with a B.Ed degree. (OR) Post Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed. (OR) Post Graduation with minimum 55% marks and 3-Year Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
  • Computer Science: B.E. / B.Tech (CS/IT) OR MCA OR M.Sc (CS/IT) OR DOEACC ‘B’/’C’ Level with Post Graduation with at least 50% marks. (Note: B.Ed is NOT mandatory for Computer Science).
  • Commerce: Master’s Degree in Commerce with at least 50% marks + B.Ed.
  • Agriculture: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture + Post Graduation in Agronomy / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Entomology / Plant Pathology / Seed Science / Soil Science / Horticulture with at least 50% marks.
  • Music: Post Graduate Degree in Music with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Relaxation: A 5% marks relaxation in minimum qualifying educational percentage is admissible to SC, ST, EBC, BC, and PwD candidates belonging to Bihar domicile.

The Bihar STET 2026 will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with a total duration of 150 Minutes (2 Hours 30 Minutes):

  • Negative Marking: There is NO negative marking in the examination.

  1. Visit the official BSEB STET portal at stetregistration.cbrt.co.in.
  2. Complete Step 1: Registration by providing your basic details and generating an OTP to receive your login credentials.
  3. Log in with your User ID and Password to fill in personal details, educational qualifications, paper selection (Paper-I / Paper-II / Both), and subject choices.
  4. Upload required scanned documents and files:
    • Recent passport-size colour photograph (80 KB to 200 KB, white/light background, 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm).
    • Scanned Signature in running handwriting (50 KB to 200 KB; capital letters are not allowed).
    • Self-attested copies of 10th (DOB proof), 12th, Graduation, Post Graduation, B.Ed/Training, Domicile, and Caste/EWS/PwD certificates.
  5. Preview the entire application form carefully and edit details if needed before clicking on Save & Submit.
  6. Pay the prescribed application fee through the online payment gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  7. Submit the form on or before 31 August 2026 and download/print the confirmation page for your records.
