Indian Overseas Bank Local Bank Officer (IOB LBO) Application 2026: Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading Public Sector Bank with headquarters in Chennai, has published an official recruitment notification (Advt. No. HRDD/RECT/02/2026-27) for direct recruitment to the post of Local Bank Officer (LBO) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I).

  • Basic Degree Requirement: Graduation (Degree) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  • Marksheet / Certificate: Candidate must possess a valid degree certificate or marksheet proving graduation on or before the registration date.
  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the local language of the applied state.
  • LPT Exemption: Candidates who studied the local language in Class 10th or 12th standard are exempted from the Local Language Proficiency Test.
  • Grade / Scale: Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I)
  • Pay Scale Band: ₹48,480 – ₹85,920/- per month
  • Pay Scale Matrix: ₹48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920
  • Allowances: DA, HRA, CCA, and other perquisites admissible as per bank rules.
  • Probation Period: 2 Years active service.
  • Service Bond: Selected candidates must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2,00,000/- for a minimum service period of 3 years.
  • Posting Policy: Selected officers will be posted within the applied state for the first 12 years of service or up to promotion to SMGS-IV.

Selection is based on an Online Examination followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) and Personal Interview:

  • Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.25 marks) will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Qualifying Score: Minimum aggregate qualifying score in the online exam is 35% for Unreserved and 30% for Reserved categories.
  • Conducted for candidates who did not study the state’s local language in 10th or 12th standard. It is qualifying in nature.
  • Minimum Interview Cut-Off: 50% for Unreserved and 45% for Reserved categories.
  • Final Weightage: Online Exam and Interview marks will be combined in the ratio of 80:20 for the final merit list.

    • Signature (10 KB – 20 KB, black ink)
    • Left Thumb Impression (20 KB – 50 KB)
    • Handwritten Declaration (50 KB – 100 KB)

  7. Submit the form on or before 24 August 2026 and take a printout of the application form and e-receipt for future reference.
