UPSC Examiner, Controller and Other Online Application 2025 – Important Dates, Age Limit, Eligibility, Salary, Notification PDF, Syllabus: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the posts of Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications, Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Deputy Director (Examination Reforms) in Union Public Service Commission. The online Application process started on 13 December 2025. Interested candidates can fill out the UPSC Examiner, Controller, and Other application till 1 January 2026. Candidates must read the official Notification before applying. The Exam will be conducted on 8 February 2026.

For Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications

• 30 years for UR/EWSs,
• 33 years for OBCs and
• 35 years for SCs/STs.

• 45 years for SCs.

UPSC Examiner, Controller, and Other Eligibility Criteria

For Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications

1. EDUCATIONAL: Degree in law from a recognized University.
2. EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in handling Court cases and other legal matters or in handling matters of trademarks and Geographical Indications.

For Deputy Director

1. EDUCATIONAL: Ph.D in any discipline in Humanities or Science or Commerce or Engineering/Technology or in a professional course such as Law or Management or Finance or Accounts from a recognized University or Institute.
2. EXPERIENCE: Five years post-qualification experience in teaching at degree level/research/preparation of teaching learning material/curriculum development / educational testing/examination reforms/development & administration of online examinations.

UPSC Examiner, Controller, and Other Salary Details

• For Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications: Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
• For Deputy Director: Level- 11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

UPSC Examiner, Controller, and Other Selection Process

• The category-wise minimum level of suitability in interviews, irrespective of whether the selection is made only by interview or by a Recruitment Test followed by an interview, will be 50 marks for UR, 45 marks for OBC, 40 marks for SC/ST/PH, out of a total of 100 marks for the interview.
• In cases where selection is made by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by an interview, the candidate must achieve a minimum level of suitability in their respective category at both stages, i.e., the ‘Recruitment Test’ and the ‘Interview’. The minimum level of suitability in case of RT shall be decided by the Commission on case to case basis.

1. All applicants shall register through the UPSC Official Website or the direct link given in the link section before the last date.
2. To apply for any form on the UPSC online portal, you need to create an account.
3. To create an account, you must have an active email ID and a mobile number.
4. After creating an account, you need to log in.
5. After logging in, you need to complete the Universal Registration.
6. Now fill out the Common Application Form (CAF)
7. To apply for a particular examination, you need to go to the ‘Examinations ‘ dropdown and click on the ‘Apply for Examination’ link after completing the CAF.
