RMC Driver Operator, Sub Officer, and Other Eligibility Criteria

Post Name Educational Qualification
Deputy Chief Fire Officer
  1. Passed the Divisional Officer Course from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, a UGC/AICTE-approved university, or
  2. Bachelor of Engineering (Fire) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire) or Bachelor of Engineering (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Science (Fire) or B.Tech. from a UGC/AICTE-approved university. Fire and Aviation, Health, Safety (F&EHS), and National Fire Service College, Nagpur, should have passed and submitted the Divisional Office Examination within 03 (three) years. The period during which the candidate is not sent for the Divisional Office Examination due to administrative reasons shall not be counted in the prescribed period mentioned in these rules, and
  3. Should own a Heavy Motor Vehicle License.
  4. Experience after the above educational qualification: 03 (three) years experience as Station Officer or equivalent in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of a company under the Central Government/State Government/Corporation/Municipal Corporation/Corporation/Board/Company Act or 05 (five) years experience as Sub Officer (Fire) or equivalent in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of a company under the Central Government/State Government/Corporation/Board/Company Act.
  5. Must be promoted to Technical Officer.
Divisional Officer
  1. Passed the Divisional Officer Course from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, affiliated to the University of Maharashtra, or
  2. Bachelor of Engineering (Fire) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire) or Bachelor of Engineering (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Science (Fire) or B.Tech. from a UGC/AICTE recognized University. Fire and Aviation, Health, Safety (F&EHS) and National Fire Service College, Nagpur should be passed and submitted within 03 (three) years to the Divisional Office. If the candidate is not sent to the Divisional Office for administrative reasons, this period will not be counted in the prescribed period mentioned in these rules, and
  3. Must possess a Heavy Motor Vehicle License.
  4. Experience after passing the above educational qualification: 03 (three) years experience as Station Officer or equivalent in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of a company under the Central Government/State Government/Corporation/Municipal Corporation/Corporation/Board/Company Act, or 05 (five) years experience as Sub Officer (Fire) or equivalent
  5. Must be promoted to Technical Officer
Station Officer
  1. UGC/AICTE-approved University Sub-Office Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur, or
  2. Bachelor of Engineering (Fire) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire) or Bachelor of Engineering (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Science (Fire) or B.Tech. Fire and Environment, Health, Safety (F&EHS) from a UGC/AICTE-approved University and Sub-Office Course from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur should be passed within 02 (two) years. The period during which the candidate is not sent to the Sub-Office Fund for administrative reasons shall not be counted in the prescribed period mentioned in this rule, and
  3. He/She should own a Heavy Motor Vehicle License.
  4. Experience after the above educational qualification: 03(five) years experience as Sub Officer (Fire) or equivalent in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of a company under the Central Government/State Government/Corporation/Municipal Corporation/Corporation/Board/Company Act, or 05(five) years experience as Leading Fireman or equivalent in the Fire and Emergency Services Department
  5. Must be promoted to Technical Officer
Sub Officer (Fire)
  1. Passed the Sub-Office Course from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, a UGC/AICTE-approved university, or
  2. Bachelor of Engineering (Fire) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire) or Bachelor of Engineering (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Technology (Fire & Safety) or Bachelor of Science (Fire) or B.Tech. from a UGC/AICTE-approved university. Fire and Aviation, Health, Safety (F&EHS), and National Fire Service College, Nagpur, should have passed and submitted the Sub Office Examination within 02 (two) years. The period during which the candidate is not sent for the Sub Office Examination due to administrative reasons shall not be counted in the prescribed period mentioned in these rules, and
  3. Should have a Heavy Motor Vehicle License.
  4. Experience after the above educational qualification: 03 (three) years of experience as a Leading Fireman or equivalent in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of a company operating under the Central Government/State Government/Corporation/Municipal Corporation,/Corporation/Board/Company Act.
  5. Must be promoted to Technical Officer.
Driver Operator (Pump)
  • Must have passed standard 10 and passed the fireman’s course from a government-recognized institution, and must have a heavy motor vehicle license.
  • Physical Qualification: Must pass the physical test.
