Puducherry Primary School Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2025

1. A pass in Higher Secondary school or its equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate; and
2. Diploma in Teacher Education or certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training of a duration of not less than two years, offered by an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. The minimum academic qualification for admission to the Diploma in Teacher Education or Certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training should be Higher Secondary or its equivalent; and
3. Should have studied the particular regional language (Tamil/Malayalam) as one of the subjects up to secondary level, or as one of the subjects in the D.T.Ed. course or studied a Diploma in Teacher Education/certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training in the relevant medium of the regional language.
4. Should have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I of TNTET/KТЕТ/АРТET/CTET as prescribed below:-

Puducherry Primary School Teacher Selection Process

There shall be 100 marks for selection by giving weightage to the marks secured in the Academic Qualification and to the Employment Exchange Registration Seniority as detailed below:

• 70% Weightage for HSC and Diploma in Teacher Education.
• 20% Weightage for marks secured in Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-I (CTET/ TNTET/KTET/APTET) and
• 10% weightage for Employment Exchange Seniority of Teacher Eligibility Test [TET Paper-I].

How to Apply for the Puducherry Primary School Teacher 2025

1. Go to the official website of https://py.gov.in/ or the link given in the link section.
2. To get registered, the candidate will enter details such as name, e-mail, category, and mobile number.
3. Registered Candidate Log in using their Registration Number and Date of Birth, and fill in all required personal details.
4. The candidate fills in their Educational qualifications, Address, and other details of the candidate have been asked for.
5. Upload photo, signature, and other details in JPG OR PDF Format.
6. Make the final submission.
7. The print out of online submitted Application Form should be submitted to “The Director, Directorate of School Education, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Centenary Educational Complex, 100 Feet Road, Near Indira Gandhi square, Anna Nagar, Puducherry-605005” along with the selfattested Photostat copies of the below mentioned certificates/documents, as applicable, in person or by “Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due” duly superscribing on the cover as “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER” to reach the same on or before 05.00 P.M on 27.10.2025, failing which the online submitted application will be summarily rejected.

The list of Photostate copies of requisite certificates should be enclosed in the following order with the hard copy of the online submitted application:

1. Birth certificate.
2. S.S.L.C. certificate or its equivalent Mark Sheets.
3. H.S.C certificate or its equivalent Mark Sheets, including attempts made, if any. [Candidates found to have suppressed any attempt made will be terminated (if appointed on selection) from the service immediately and penalized as per rules.]
4. Diploma in Teacher Education certificate or certificate in Basic Teacher’s Training of duration of not less than two years offered by the institution recognized by the NCTE with all marks sheets (yearwise / semester-wise) including attempts made, if any. [Candidates found to have suppressed any attempt made will be terminated (if appointed on selection) from the service immediately and penalized as per rules.]
5. TЕT(CTET/TNTET/KTET/APTET) certificate [Paper-I].
6. Residence/Nativity certificate.
7. Community (OBC/MBC/EBC/BCM/BT/SC/ST) certificate.
