Bombay High Court Stenographer (Lower Grade) Eligibility Criteria

  • Must possess a University Degree. However, this condition may be relaxed if the candidate already has at least 03 years of experience (in Stenography). Preference is being given to candidates possessing a Degree in Law.
  • must have passed the English Shorthand Examination of 80 w.p.m. or above from the Government Commercial Certificate Examination or Industrial Training Institute.
  • must have passed the English Typing Examination of speed of 40 w.p.m. or above, the Government Commercial Certificate Examination conducted by Maharashtra State Bureau of Examination or the  Industrial Training Institute or the Government Certificate in Computer Typing Basic Course (GCC-TBC) conducted by Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE).

How to Apply for Bombay High Court Stenographer (Lower Grade) 2025

  1. Candidates need to visit the official website of the Bombay High Court or the link given in the link section.
  2. The online application form should be filled out on a computer using a web browser.
  3. The candidates shall have to submit their application online only, in the prescribed format through the Bombay High Court website, i.e. https://bombayhighcourt.nic.in, for which link shall open at 11.00 a.m. on 15/12/2025 and shall close at 5.00 p.m. on 05/01/2026. To avoid last minute rush, candidates are advised to submit the applications well in advance.
  4. Applications in any other mode, like post/hand delivery/ courier, etc., will not be accepted.
  5. Before commencing process to fill up Online Application, the candidate must have his/her latest passport size photograph (3.5 c.m.x 4.5 c.m.) and signature (3 c.m. x 2.5 c.m.) duly scanned in separate files in the .jpg/.jpeg format in such a manner that size of each file should not exceed 40 KB and shall upload the same at the appropriate places shown in the Online Application Form. Also, make sure that the same is clearly visible.
  6. Candidates are required to select only one establishment (i.e. Principal Seat at Bombay, Bench at Nagpur or Bench at Aurangabad) while submitting the online application. Once the establishment is selected and the application is submitted, no request for change, correction or transfer from one establishment to another shall be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are, therefore, advised to take due care while making their selection.
  7. Candidate should fill up correct full name (spelling) as per educational documents/certificates available with him/her.
  8. Candidate should provide his/her correct, detailed address with Pin Code, e-mail address and his/her own registered mobile number for correspondence.
  9. The candidate should fill in the correct date of birth as per the  Birth Certificate/educational documents, etc.
  10. If the candidate does not have any children, he/she should fill ‘0’ (Zero) in the respective column.
