Armed Forces Medical Officer Age Limit
Age Limits As of 31 December 2025
- Minimum Age: N/A
- Maximum Age: 30 Years (For MBBS degree Holder)
- Maximum Age: 35 Years (For PG degree Holder)
Armed Forces Medical Officer Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have passed their final MBBS (Part-I & II) examination in not more than two attempts and have appeared in the NEET PG examination (anytime during the last two years i.e, 2024 & 2025). Civilian doctors having a Post Graduate degree will not be required to appear in the NEET PG examination again. Marks obtained by them in the NEET PG examination earlier will be taken into consideration.
- The applicant must possess a medical qualification included in the National Medical Council Act, 2019. The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/NMC/MCI. Postgraduate degree holders recognized by the State Medical Council /NBE/NMC can also apply.

How to Apply for Armed Forces Medical Officer
Candidates need to visit the official website of https://join.afms.gov.in/ or the link given in the link section.
Candidates are to register and submit their applications on the recruitment website. To save time during the application submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance under their user profile. The procedure for applying online is explained below.
(a) Online (e-application). Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:-
(i) Correct personal particulars details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate/12th class certificate.
(ii) Fields such as e-mail address and mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.
(b) All relevant documents (preferably in original), Date of Birth proof (as per 10th/12th certificates), 10th class marksheet, 12th class marksheet, and a recent passport-size color photograph should be scanned in original JPG/TIFF format, for attaching the same while filling up the application. Candidates are to take a printout of the application.
(c) If any scanned document is not legible/ readable for any reason, the application will be rejected.
(d) The application, once submitted, will be final, and no request for amendments/changes will be entertained.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
(a) Mobile phones or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises where the examination is being conducted. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action, including a ban from future examinations.
(b) Candidates are strongly advised to apply online well in time without waiting for the last date for submission of the Online application.
(c) No candidate should misbehave in any manner or create a disorderly scene in the examination premises. This will entail disqualification.
(d) Candidates should avoid submitting multiple applications. If more than one application is received from a candidate, their candidature will be canceled.
(e) The decision of the Indian Armed Forces as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate at every stage of recruitment shall be final.
(f) Wrong information about domicile details will result in the cancellation of candidature at any stage of recruitment, training, and thereafter
